Large yardings of sheep: and cattle ' carrie fbrward at the Levin sale yegterday, vyhep last week's vqlues were fully maintained. The entry pf pigs wus the §mallest submitted for some time, with heavy and meriium porkers sellirig exceptionally well. "Phe sheep penned were of average quality^ Good wethers sold to 52s ld and ewes, which were in smaller numbers, made 37s ld. A full race of lambs was keenly sought by butchers, gopd qiiality wooily b.L lambs bringirig up to 43s 4d' and W,f, lambs to 38s- ld. There was keen competition for the fat cattle offere'd und values • remained firm on late rates. There was a markpd easing of rates in- the dairy cattle section, but this was solely due to the fac't that the entry was not up- to the quality usually offered. The foliowing is a range of the prices realised: — Fat sheep: Prime wethers, 52s ld; medium do., 45s 7d to 48s lOd; light and unfinishe'd do., down to 41s 4d; good quality ewes, 35s 4d to 37s ld; prime woo]ly b.f. lambs, 43s 4d; medium do., 37s ld; light do., down to 32s 4ri; prime w.f. lambs, 37s 7d to 38s ld; medium do., 33s lOd to 36s 4d; light and unfinished do., down to 27s.
Store sheep: Forward 4-tooth wethers, 37s; small woolly lambs off hills, i6s to 19s; shorn ewe ambs off hills, 15s 7d; small shorn wether iambs off hills, 15s 6d; medium b.f. lambs, 20s; cull wether lambs, 11s.
