Figures given by Mr. Harvey showed that from yesterday afternoon till 7 a.m. this morning 1.64 inches of rain had fallen. Af ter j months of drought, district farmlands and gardens are at saturation point and rain falling now is accumulating on the earth's surface. Flood waters in the Makerua and Moutoa districts still cover tne low lying areas. For the first five months of this year .20:46 inches of rain have been recorded. During the same period last year, 12.92 inches fell.
