Goods Train Strikes Truck At Level Crossing
When the truck he was driving was struck by the WellingtohAuckland express goods train, at the Tararua Road level crossing" about 2.30 p.m. this afternoon, Harry Taylor, married, aged about 50 years, of Tokomaru, suil'ered a fractured left arm and probable compound fracture of the skull. ,He was taken to the Palmerston North Hospital. /• • -I- • Mr. Taylor was driving from the saleyards with the intention of crossing the railway line to the main highway. The cab of the truck was wrecked and the vehicle pushed over the eatile stop and along the line. A doctor was on the scene within a few minutes and attended to the injured man.
