Levin Young Farmers Meet
The usual monthly meeting of the Levin Young Farmers' Club was held in the .» Gddfellows' Hall recently, the •" chairman, Mr. D. ; Kilsby, presiding over a good | attendance of members. Apologies were received from Messrs. Denton, Coppin and Earle. The team chosen for the N.Z. StoCk Judging Chainpionships, to be held at Massey College this j month, is as follows: Messrs. Den- j ton, Kilsby, Rolston, R. Blackburn, I." Campbell, B.' Fitzgerald and R. | Hewitt. The club is to chOse two seven-a-side football teams for the ; district football tournament to take place on June 16. Mr. Ian i Campbell, a member of the club,/ presented a shield for the toufney. The trophy Will be nUmed the "Stephen Lancaster Memorial Shield." It was suggested that a local field day be helcj in July, while at the . next meeting an address will be given on "Early Horowhenua Dis-, trict." At the conclusion of, the business an ihteresting leGture Was given on fruit tree growing by Mf. Leinnie, of the N.Z. FruitgrbWers' Federation. He alSo gave a practical demonstration of buddihg a fruit tree.
