He had met ohe of the others charged at a 'dance and this person had asked him if he waiited a drink and they had gOne out to the car. j "Neverthcless We Will haye td take it that you had part Control of the beer, said Mr. Thomson, when entering a convictiOn. He was fined £3, but on Sergeant Grainger pointing out that -defendant had come to Levin by train and that he pfobi ably lost a day's pay by his appearjance in court, Mr. Thomson reduced the fine to £2. Court costs Wdfe 10s. 'The other defendant, i Barnett, who did not appear lh | court, was cOnvicted and fined £3, court costs being 10s.
