Returned Men Invited to Meet Australians
Members of the Shannon branch of the Returned Services' Association have received an lnvitation from the Levin R.S.A. to- attend a function in honour of the visiting Australian returned servicemen, to be held in Levin on Tuesday evening. The invitation is open to all members of the local branch and their wives and an excellent' evening's entertainment has been arranged. The president of the Shannon branch, Mr. B. Clayton, stated yesterday that his branch greatly appreciated the gesture of theLevin branch in inviting local returned men and their wives to meet the . Australian visitors and every effort will- be made - to have the branch well represented. ■ As there is not a great deal of time to advlse members of the arrangements it will be necessary to know approximately how many Shannon people will be attending the function So that transport arrangements can *>e completed. Mr. Clayton asks that persons who intend travelling to Levin should get In touch with - either the secretary, Mr. E. J. Gunning, or himself. If sufficient passengers warrants the running of a bus this will be arrange'd.
