Some Power Restrictions Lifted
1 " — • / V — ^ \ . The lifting of certain electricity restrictions was announced by the managing-secretary of the Horo--whenua Electra Power Board, Mr» R. A. Frederikson, *today. All daily power cuts. have. been eliminated and the hours for which water heaters . may b,e" used has .been extqnde'd to 10 per day, The lifting of these restrictions is the result of a telegram received this morning from the Electricity ControlleiY. Mr. A. E. Davenport, -The telegram advised' that the previously ftxed alloca'tion of 44,700 units a week had been increased to 45,900 units for this week. This was 15 per eent. below the allocation . for the year. There would be a slight weekly inerease to provide for the colder weather, said Mr. Davenport, "This extension can only be made if the consumers will save volunta'rily," commented Mr. Frederikson. "If this methods of saving is not sufficient, we will1 have no option but to reimpose at least part of the' restrictions. We hope that with the» experienee of the past f ew weeks the consumers will do e very thing in fch'eir power to see that txie situation does not arise again."
