CHRISTCHURCH, April 5. j The death has occurred at Christchurch of Mr. James Reid, of ! Riversleigh, Darfield, one of- New i Zealand's best-known Corriedale ! and English Leicester stud breedJ ers. j Born at Beith, Ayrshire, Scotiland, in September 1866, Mr. Reid |fame to New Zealand in 1883. In ! 1888, with his elder brother, Mr. ! Robert Reid, he took up the Rivers- | leigh property of 428 acres. He ahd i his brother ran stud Corriedale and j English Leicester flocks until Mr. j Robert Reid died in 1928, and then j Mr. James Reid carried On alone. Mr. Reid's stud flocks were among the first two of their kind established in this eountry, and many of his stock soid readily ovevseas.
