Rev. A. Salmond, who has just returned from Dunedin after attehding the centennial meetings of the Synod of Otago and Southland, was much impressed' by the manner in which Dunedin had - arranged the centennial celebrations. The r'e-enactment of the landing of the first settiers from the John Wycliffe had, he said, enfcailed a great deal of preparation and the entire Port Chalmers community, Mayor, council, church, school, watsrsiders and - fishermen had all taken a share. The celebration's were a triumph of community co-operation, historical research and technical ability. The adequate public buildings in Dunedin, parr.icularly the First Church of Otago and the Town H&ll, had provided a setting which it would be difficult t'or any other city m New Zealand to equal. ,
