Australian Hockey Team For New Zealand

CHEISTCHUKCH, March 30. A tourlug Australian hockey team will arrive at Auckland by air on July 22 and will fly back from Auckland to Sydney on August 23. This was announced this evening by Mr. W. H. Down, secretary of tlie New Zealand Hockey Association. Tke -tour will be for five Saturday matches in-cluding-one test mateh and eleven midweek matches. The teain is considered to be the strongest ever to leave Australia. Mr. Down said it was the turn of Christchurch to have a test against the visiting Australian team, but Dunedin also had special claims as the centennial inter-provincial hockey tournament would be held in Dunedin during the first week of August. A proposal to play the test match against Australia in Dunedin on August .7 was linder consideration. Mr. Down added that already the Association had received more applications for matches than ' would be possible to inelude in the itinerary. .
