Launch Lost on Reef

WELLINGTON, Mareh 30, Breaking adrift from her moorings at Petone during the storm on Spnday night, the 30ft. launch Marlin ended her drift of some 20 hours when she rau aground on Barrett's Reef late yesterday afternoon. In the last light of yesterday the Marlin was seen wedged between the rocks on the seaward side of the reef, but this morning there was no sign of the craft. Salvage attempts are likely to be made if a traee of the Marlin is seen this afternoon. The Marlin is owned by Mr. E. Rowe, of Palmerston North.
