There' was an influx of visitors, mostly' young folk returning horhe for the- holidays, while a large number spent the weekend at the beaches and in the cities. ' , ? Qutdoor sport.was popular as the holiday Weather w'as very fTvourable. None -of the heavy wind Which caused damage further;down the coast was experience'd, and it was late last night before any rain fell locally. ' Racing enthusiasts were well catered for and ' Easter' Saturday and yesterday say/ the buses well filled and many private cars headed. Feilding way. 1 Speedway fans turned out in large numbers on Saturday evening to visit Palmers- ■ ton North for jthe final meeting of fchis season, and places of amusement were well filled on Thursday, Saturday and Monday. . The Church of England dance held in the Parish Hall last evening was' welL patronised. Speciai Easter services were held in the local churches 'on Sunday morning and evening, and these were well attended. • * The majoriy of business people reported good trading for the week prior to Easter and al through -Shannon experienced a- quiet holiday season, -nevertheless, all enjoyed the few days' break.
