AUCKLAND, March 29. Oue of the greatest tonnages of shipping ever asSenabled in .|he port of , Auckland -in peacetime' ifr.ill' b6 along-l side the wharves and at itnehor in the stream tomorrow morniiig when waterfront worlc will be. resumed after the four-day Easter -recess. -Eighteen large overseas ships will be in port, six of ithem swinging^at anchor, and the mass of vessels .will represent a total tonrxage - of 158,183 g ross. Ten intercolonial and large coastal vessels will bring the total to 183,103 toris gross. The previous postwar record was established after the long dispute of early last year when 178,329 tons gross Avere in port on one day. The congestion of shipping whieh is attributed larg'ely to loss of working tiine during the waterfront disputes carlier this inonth, ia likely to lemain a dominant feature pf the port aetivity for many weelcs. Most of the six 'ships at anchor will not berth before next week and by then other vessels^ will have arrived to maintain the long queue strung down -the harbour from the waterfront to North" Head.
