Brilliant knocks by J akes and Wallace and the excellent bowling of Saunders gave Weraroa an- easy win over Paraparaumu on Saturday when they met iri the Horowhenua cricketj competitiom First use of the wicket went to . Reeve (17) • Saunders accounted for five of the wickets at a cost of -only 24 runs, his figures including the hat trick. Weraroa replied with 257. Jukes, one of the two opening batsmen, was forced to retire hurt wjren he had made 20, but he r.eturned later to advance his score to 81 and, with Wallace, to turn in „a seventh wicket ■ partnership which realised 134 runs, Wallace batted strqngly for 84, his ihnings' including 15 fours. It was his best knock this year and places him among the season's highest scorers.
