In the morning Canterbury's overhight score of.123 for six was advancea t'o '209 for eight before a declaration was made. O'Malley batted brightly, taking his score from 32 to 72' in 48 mimjtes before being dismissed, ana Leggat hit 25 not out in 18 minutes. The • Fijians beginning their seconainnings 35 minutes before luncli made a wretched start, losing' the lirst two wickets for 7, but Bula and Apted adcled 84 in a fine partnership. Bula was not quite as aggressive as in the first innings, but scored at a tremendous rate. .When the sixth wicket feil at 162 the gaine seemed all but over. However, Peun and Bula added 67, the first 50 of which were scored in only 19 minutes. Bula took 130 minutes to reacli his century and scored 20 in tne next ten ininutes before being well heia by Hadlee. Later Wendt and Petero (batting by arrangement in plaee of Isoa who was ihcapacitated) scored'freely, but Canterbnry a'lways haa something in hand. It was a most mteresting game and was thoroughiy enjoyed by the large crowd. The gate takings were £289, bringing the total tor the three days to £1406. After the game ended the visitors gave an exhibition of batting ' and then sang two of their songs to an appreciative . audicnce.
