The Austriiliaju star plavers, Lrown and Sidvvell, -delighted the crowd. Browu's play resembles that of Broniwich i/i many ways but he is more dynamic and also more erratic. I J is service and two-handed itai-khand were easily the faslest seen at Wiiding Park for a nuiuber of ycars. Miss MacGibbou did weil to take the second set frotu Miss Tooiuev aftei nearly wiuning the first. She held her own with Miss Toome.y until hui f way tli rough the third set after AH.ss Toomey had broken through her ser- 1 vice.
The Wellington plaver, Mrs. J. Me\'ay, did vvell against Miss M. Bevis. Mrs. AIiA'av led 4 — 3 in the first set but. lost it 6 — 1. tShe won the second set iu good style but in the final set jMiss Bevis always had the better oi the play. Uesults: — Men's Singles: 0.
