Maori Fined For Liquor Offence
Aiding the supply of liquor to a natiye was the charge preferred against John Hopa Heremaia, labourer, in the Magistra^e's Court, Levin, before Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M. on Fr-iday. Constable W. R. Gillespie stated that he had seen defendant in • Oxford Street and had found him fo be in pojssession of a. bottle of beer. Heremaia "did not appear in court, He was fined £3, with 17s costs.
