WANGANUI HAS CHANCE FOR HAWKE CUP
NAPIEIt, Feb. 13. Hawke's Bay's loss of three wickets for 47 runs in the closing hour of the second dav of the Jlawke 'Cup challenge match, places Wanganui in a favourable position. Should Wanganui 's bowler Cave, who proved Ihe destruetive agent in the first innings and who took the three Hawke's Bay wickets this affernoon, prove as troublesome tomorrow, Hawke's Bay will face a griin batting task.Slow batting marked the second days play, Wanganui spending all but an hour at the wicket. In 318 minutes of play they scored 225 runs, leaving Hawke's Bay the task of compiling 207 for a win. Best displays in Wanganui 's sucond innings were those of Cave and Hunt. Both were steady as a rock, Cave being paVticularly safe and making no mistalces bofore his dismissal. H. Beaney was Hawke's Bay's most successful bowler, taking three for 27. WANGANUI.
