Mr. Edwards said elaborate plans were being made not only to step up recruitmeut of labour but also to ensure larger suppiies of raw materials and amenities which would make textile work more attractive. 4 ' On looking at the export markets, ' ' said Mr. Edwards, "we lind the greatest opportunit-y exists for selfing textile goods in Canada, the" United States and South Africa. There is almost an unlimited market and in view of the t'act tliat only 65 per cent. of our present manufacturing. potential is being jperated and that we have now ample suppiies of raw cotton, we feel this industry can make the greatest single contribution to the soiution of our pfobJems. ' ' Mr. Edwards was aasured, during his visit, of the full support of the unrons. He will meet the employers' next week.
