NO HOPE OF PETROL.
Mr. Alfred Eobens, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minisfer of Fuel, said in the Commons that there was no prospect of any increased petrpl ration for Easter and that motorists should not count upon any return of the basic petrol ration this year. He said the Government wonld be relieved of "a great headache", if it were possible to restore the basic ration but it simply was ungble to do so. The nation could not spend what few dollars it had on anytlung but the sheer necessities of life. Organisations such as the Automobile Associations and Royal Automo bile Olub were wasting their time and money in useless propaganda if they continued their canipaign for the restoration of th:e previous ration. ' ' This is not a iiiatter on which pressufe oi' public opinion can change the lssues, " said Mr. Robens. "As soon as it is possible to retore the basic- ration we sliaU' do so. "
