The friends of kliss H. E. Bowen will be pleased to hear that her doctor has stated" that she has shown better progress during the' past two days. , Alex. Arcus and Ray Lycette, who attended Hqrowhenua College up to last year, have both been awarded Higher School Certificates after one year's post-matriculation work at the college. This entitles them to a bursary at the Univer- ' ^ity.° Alisoh Todd, Nola Gordon and Robert Bennett, all of Horowhenua College, have passed the examination for the award of science bursaries. This examination is competitive and as these students are returning to school, they cannot be awarded b.ursaries this year.
