Large Sheep Yardings At Levin Sale

Large yardings of store sheep were penned at the Levin sale yesterday. The market for store lambs remained buoyant while the first breeding ewes to appear- in the yards this season sold well at fair values ' for the quality of the yarding. Fat sheep showed a slight improvement on last week's rates. , In the pig seetion, a full yarding. -improved in values on recent saies. Fat cattle sold well but because of an over-supply, there was! a slight easing-off in the saies of, runners. More dairy stock than usual were penned, more interest being shown in this seetion than of \ late. The. following is a range of priqes realised:— Sheep: Prime heavy wethers, 39s lOd to 41s 10d'; prime medium do., 38s 4d to 39s ld; prime ewes, » 24s 4d to 26s lOd; lambs (tops) , 34s 4d to 36s 6d; medium do., 29s IQd to ■31s 4d. i ^{31 Store sheep: Four and five-year ewes, on account Walker Estat,e (Plimmerton), 27s 9d, 31s 6d, 32s 6d; five-year ewes, 30s 9d to 32s 6d; fattening. ewes, 31s 3d to 23s 9d; fat and forward black faced lambs, 27s; store black faced lambs, 21s ld to 23s 2d; good shorh
