Mercer, of Cambridge Street, Levin, left today for Danpevirke, where^he will take up . his first appointmeiit , as a teacher at Dannevirke High SchooL Mr. R. R. Long-, -veterinary surgeon attached to the Levin Dairy Company, left today from Palmerston North for Christchurch to attend the New Zealand Veterinary Association's -eonference. -He ' will be absent from Levin for five days. Six months after her return from the United States where she underwent a successful heart operation, Palmerston North's si'x-year-old "biue baby," Marfe Stewart, twin daughter of Mr. and' Mrs. R. J. W. Rose, of College Street, is practically leading the life of any small child with few signs of her former affliction manifesting bhemselves. Mr. aiid Mrs. Rose are optimistic for the complete recovery of their daughter.
