Dropped Intruder With Shot Gun
GREY AIOUTH, Jan. 22. Awakening at 3 o'clock this morning to- find a man at the window of his home at Paparoa, near Blackball, Air. George AIcAIahon, an engineer employ•ad at the Paparoa tftate Altne, armed Mmself with a shot gun and ran to the front door to intercept the intruder, who was then going out the gate. Air. AIcAIahon ealled 011 the man to stop. When he did.not do so, Air. AIcAIahon lired a shot over his h^ad. This had 110 effect and Air. AIcAIahon then
hred a shot at the legs of the man wht was running away, dropping him to the ground. It was found that pellets from the shot gun had penetrated frhe man 's hip and right hand. After receiving medical attention the injured man was conveyed to the Greymouth Hospital under arrest. He is a single man. aged 27 years, and' a bins worker at the Paparoa Aline. His condition is I satisfactory.
