TAUPO, Jan. 17. There was excitement on the Taupo wharf today when it was discovered that 12 bottles of beer and one bottle of whisky had been dropped from a launch during the loading of supplies by a fishing party. The bottles can be seen quite plainly in the river bed which is about 15ft. deep with a strong and treacherous back current.- Attempts have been made during the day by people diving to retrieve the bottles — particularly the whisky — but so far their efforts have been foiled by the depth of the water a&d the strong jsurreat,
