Most abandoned strips are overgrown and unuseable with no fuel available. The spokesman added it vras possible aircraft were still going tlirough to A.ustralia carrying gold, drugs and jeweis despite :t rigorous customs inspection in Alalaya and elsewhere. Regarding secrct flights, liowever, he Ihought the oniy possibility would be for aircraft to stage througli Indonesia from Datwin to Biani or other areas where a cheek on movements was. not so efifective..
