Following the decisipn made at the last meeting of the Levin Bor-. ough Council, a review of applU cations fdr street and shop days for 1948 was made at last night's meeting. Those approved are;--March, Levin Boy Scouts; April, R.S.A. 's Poppy Day; May, Corso Committee; August, Levin Food for Britain Committee; Sepfember, Combined Seamen's Mission; October, Levin Municipal Band; Novem^ ber, R.S.A- Rose Day Appeal; December, Christmas cheer for hospital patients. An applieation for a street appeal for the purpose of raising money for the dispatch of parcels to Broughton, Engiand, was mado by the Levin R.S.A,, but it was decided that only one Food, for BrL tajn street day should be held, and that by the larger organxsatioh.
