Heavy Entry of Store Lambs at Levin Sale

Nearly 2000 head of good quality store lambs came forward at the Levin sale yesterday, values improving on recent rates. There was a lighter yarding of fat stock, whieh sold at prices slightly under last week's rulings. This can be attributed to the holding of th'e sale a day earlier than usual. Good quality fat wethers and ewes depreciated from ls to ls 6d a hea'd on recent values. A lighter yarding of fat lambs came forward and met with keen demand. The entry of pigs was eonsiderably lighter than last week and good lines sold at late rates. The small number of fat catUe penned met with little demand, values depreciating from £1 to £1 10s a head at times. No oxen were yarded. The following is a range of the prices realised: — Fat Sheep Prime heavy wethers, 37s 4d to 38s 4d; prime quality two-tooth wethers, 36s 4d to 38s 4d; lighter sorts, 32s lOd to 34s 4d; prime heavy ewes, 23s 4d to "24s" 10d; light do,, 18s' 4d to 19s 7d; prime quality lambs, 32s 7d to 35s lOd; me-dium do„ 26s 4d to 30s lOd.
