WILL FACILITATE BO ROUGH , ROAD WORK The" Levin Borough Council has, plaeed an order with a Stratford firfh for a utility 'traCtor and at-1 tachments for general use within the borough. The machinO Wiil be| purchaSCd but of a £1300 Jund representing chiefly additional rentals' On account of the theatre, o'ffice and shops, a sum whieh did not ap.pear on the year's estimates. The tractor, including grader, will cost approximately £720, scarifier attachment approximately £105 12s and mower attachment approxi- i mately £85, a total of £910 12s, It is hoped 'that dellvery of , the machine will be made within the •heXt three months. . The advisability of purchasing such equipment has iong been under discussion by the council, and its employment will relieve the hecessity of using a .council truck to tow the gang mowers On the loCal parks. The attachmehts will also be" of great value in road wofk throughout the borough. The works committee has also recommended . that investigations be made as to the cost ahd possibility of Converting the couacil's •steam roller into a motor-driven tahdem roller. •
