YEAR'S RAINFALL IN LEVIN
TOTAL OF 48 INCHES ABOVE AVERAGE The last two months of the year in Levin were very dry, but the 'cotal rainfall during 19 r7 was still abbve the average. Tnis was due iargeiy to phenomenally heavy falls in June and October. The year's rain amounted to 45.45 inches, as compared with 48.2 inches in 1946 and an average over the past 14 years of 43 incnes. The lowest monthly rainfall during the year occurreu in November, when there was only 1.09 inch, ln DCcember rain feii on 11 days to make a total of 2.48 inches, as against 4.03 inches in the same month of 1946. Mr. H. Harvey, of Cambridge Street, gives the f ollowing rainxail ngures ior each month auring the past year: January, 3.44 inches;" FCbruary, 3.60 inches; March, 1.16 mcnes; Aprn, 2.52 incnes; May, 2.z0 inches; June, 9.44 inches; July, 4.15 inches; August, 5.57 inchet.; septetnber, 2.29 inches; October, 6.85 inches; November, 1.09 inches; December, 2.48 inches.
