PAIRS BOWLING
Play in the Wellington Centre's pairs tournament matches at Otaki Railway on Thursday was above the average. The green, thanks to a very capable caretaker, Mr. Roy Booth, was in excellent order. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mesdames Rule and Saunders and Miss Webster, an'd fully enjoyed. The following are results of the day's play, skips only being mentioned: — O'Gorman (Paekakariki) , 4 wins; Webster (Otaki Railway), Merwood (Otaki), Walsh (Otaki)/ three each; Petherick (Paraparaumu) , Ritchie (Raumati South) , two each; Osborne (Raumati South)', Booth (Otaki Railway) , Ke'arns (Otaki), one each; Cox (Raumati South) , nil. Yesterday's Play The tournament was continued yesterday on the Otaki green, when bowling was of a high standard. A board bearing the names of players and other needed narticulars, prepared by Mr. Claude Grey, was an mnovation that was appreciated. Mrs. W. Wilson and Miss Avery supervised the tea arrangements in a nieasing manner. Scores were as follows, skips onlv b-irg mentioned : Symonds and Chiiscian, four wins each; Horn three; Connor, Douglas, Henderson! Smiuh, two each; Proudfoot, Nicol Grey, Dobson, Batten, one each! Several players showed that the strenuous games over the five davs had proved sufficient.
