STOPPED LIMITED EXPRESS
w . eHergency brake illegally used Apparently regarding the emergency stop lever on the Limited Express as being installed for hispersonal convenience, a traveller on the train last week, utiiised it to disembark at Queen Street. When the train approached the Queen Street crossmg, it was orought to a standstill. As- curious passengers leaned out of windows to find out the cause of the trouble, the train officiais, accompanied by the local police sergeant, who happ.ened to be stanamg in the vicinity of the crossing, went through the train and questioned passengers in the carriage in which the lever was seen to be down. No one had seen anyone tampering with
it, but one passenger said that a man sitting in the corner had left his seat just before the train came to a standstill. The police standing on the town side of the train saw no one disembark, but it is believed the man left the train from the other side.
