Ther club ' asked that the council take steps to effect the exchange, with a view to -the' subsequent leasing of the police section in Essex 'Street-to the club. The exchange of sections will mean that the club will, when the lease of the aequired section is approved by the council, be free to extend its present green. It was pointed out at the meeting of the council that there "was a slight 'difference in the prices of the two properties, the police section being the higher, but the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, said he hoped that an arrangement could be made with the department for a straight out exchange. The bowling club had, however, agreed to pay all legal expenses involved in the transaction and if necessary to meetv the difference in price.
