WITHDRAWAL OF TROOPS

Received Tuesday, 10.20 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 8. An authoritative source states that the British troops will be withdrawn from specific areas of Palestine, Arab as well as Jewish, on December 15. The Palestine Government issued a communique in Jerusalem today stating that the decision to withdraw the British and Arab troops from a number of Jewish areas had nothing whatever to do with the British withdrawal from Palestine. Local withdrawals would take advantage of the Jewish authorities' offer to help maintain law and order within the Jewish community and make more British and Arab troops available for duty in the mixed areas.
