President Truman today nominated Mr. Robert M. Seotten, a career diplomat, as United States Minister to New Zealand, says a Washington cable. Mr. ..Scotten succeeds Mr.v Avra M. Warren, who was reeently assigned to Finland. Mr. L. A. Whitham, who leaves on Wednesday to take up his new appointment as postmaster at Feilding,, was yesterday farewelled by members of the Levin Rotary Club. The president, Mr. D. P. Todd, referred to the interest Mr. Whitham had tak'en in Rotary during his membership with the Levin Club and extended good wishes to him for the future. Mr. Whitham briefly responded, remarking that although his stay in Levin had been a short one he would leave the town 'with y.ery great regret.
