SOFT DRINK BOTTLES
NEW TYPE NOT POPULAR Since the introduction of a new: type- of container, cordial manufac-: turers say they are havtng a hard time to convince the public that it "is not -the .clothes that make the man." A dull brown in appearance the . new bottles are not "going across" with the average consu.mer, who views their contents with considerable mistrust. Many of his patrons were convinced that the cordial even taste'd different, said one manufacturer. With the shortage of white bottles, the coloured substitutes wou'ld ,be in circulation for a long wMle yet, They were just as unpopulat with the manufacturers of .cordiais and lemonade as they apparently were with the consumer. Wihatever the ■container, however, the quality, and ingredients used in the beverage were still the same. The shortage of' lemonade bottles is still critical, but locai manufacturers of soff 'drinks are confident that they can meet the Christmas rush.- The supply thereafter would depend on the quick return of empty bottles. "We are filling up bottles as fast as we get them in," said one manufacturer.
