ON THE RIFLE RANGE
The range for the Hautere Rifle Club's shoot last Saturday was 500 yards. The con'ditions were good for the fh'st practice, but became poor during the second visit to the firing point, when many members shot in a steady rain and the scores suffered accordihgly. C. Cobb and F. Freeman both return- ■ v ed eight bull 49's in the first practice, and C. Cobb went on to scorb 47, thus winning Mr. H. B. Edhouse's trophy with 96. C. Strom. was second With 95. Individual scores were as follows, the main being 48: C. CObb 49 — 47 — scf. — 96, C. Sttom 44—45— 6— 9S, N. S. Monk 41—46—6—92, R. L. Monk 44—46—2—92, D Wallington 41 — 43 — 8 — 92, H. A. Lumsden 44 — 46 — scr. — 90, B. F. Monk 45 — 45 — scr.— 90, F. H, Monk 46 — 43 — scr. — 89, F. FTeeman 49 — 40 — scr. — 89» J. Clark 43 — 35 — 12 — 89, B. Geange . 39—37—12—88, V. La Greca 40—36 — 12 — 88, L. E. Monk 43 — 43 — scr.— 86, W. Windley 39—31—8—78. Next Saturday the range will be 600 yards.
