WELLINGTON BOWLING CENTRE
MEETING OF DELEGATES A meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre was held last week. The president, Mr. W. F. Hadwin, made feeling reference to the passing of Messrs. C. H. Duncan (Hataitai), J. Ramsden (Seatoun), T. Smith (Otaki), S. Beaumont (Johnsonville) , and as a mark of memory and respect those present stood in silence. The president extended a welcome to Messrs. Davidson (Naenae),. A. Miller (Miramar), and Ricketts (Paraparaumu Beach) . - The president reported that owing to the 1948 test stamp not coming to hand, a stamp had been procured locally and since then the stamp from the N.ZB.A. had been received. Bowl testing had commenced on November 3. Some clubs had not made the desired arrangements with the bowl tester to have members' bowls forwarded for testing, and are requested to take these steps and arrange to have all bowls which require testing forwarded as soon as possible. Owing to the large number of new bowls being received,. it was agreed that a dispensation should be. granted for rhe first two rounds of the pennant competition in respect of the engraving and testing of those ' bowls. The president reported that in connection with the proposed official visits to the Paraparaumu Beach and Plimmerton Clubs on* November 16 and 30 respectively, arrangements had been made with the Railway Department to supply a special bus in each case. The Plimmerton Club advised that November 30 was acceptable for an official visit.
