MUTUAL RESPECT BASIS FOR PEACEFUL SOLUTION
NEW YOEE, Nov. 7. The New York Post published an interview with Mr. Vyshinsky in whien the Soviet diplomat is quoted as saymg that Capitalism and Communism couia live together in one world if they attained mutual respect .which, he saia, was the basis for a peaceful solution ox the troubles of the United Nations and for the creation of better internationai relations. Mr. Vyshinsky warned, however, that in the absenee of mutual respect there could be no cooperation between the Soviet bloc and the United Nations majority. Asked how he would appraise the achievements of the present session of the General Assembly, the Post said Mr. Vyshinsky replied: "It is not over yet. A good beginning might be spoiled by a bad ending and it is difiicult to say how things would- turn out." President Truman sent "sincere greetings" to the Russian people on the occasion of their national lioliday. His forinal message addressed to Nikolai Milthailovich Shvernick, President of the Presidium, omitted any reference to Soviet Government offieials. It read: "On this national anniversary of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics please convey to the people of ... tne Soviet Union the sincere greetings of the United States."
