DISTRICT REHABILITATION
MEETING OF COMMITTEE The October meeting of the Levin Rehabilitation Committee was held on Thursday night! The chairman, Mr. H. J. Lancaster, presided- and there were also present ' Mrs. • C. Bartholomew and Messrs. W. Batten, J. Corbishley, G. C. Rae (rehabilitation officer) , G. H. Kerslake and G. Barclay (secretary) . The finance sub-committee reported having recommended for approval six loans totalling £9000 for the erection or purchase of dwellings, and declining one business loan. These actions were confirmed by the committee. The following were also recommended for approval: Six furniture loans, five applications for priorities to purchase vehicles, two for tools from the "rehabilitation tool Store and three for rationed goods. 1 The housing " ; sub-committee advised that no. new applications had been received for State houses in T.evin and no houses had been received for allocation. Nine cancellations or transfers of applications had been made. Orre new application had been received in Foxton and three allocations made, while in Shannon one new application had been received with no allocations of houses. The farming sub-committee reported having received three applications for grading.
