4657 RATION BOOKS ISSUED
BUTTER REGISTRATION STILL NECESSARY Up to noon today 6457 ration booKs of the total of nearly 8000 hau been issued by the sta.ff at the Levin Post Ofhce. Tomorrow is tne final day for securing the new books for the start of the next rationing period on Monday, when they come into operation. There will undoubtedly be a last-minute rush at the rationing counter tomorrow. Registration for butter supplies will still be necessary in the new rationing period beginning^ next week. Some doubt has existed on this point among shop-keepers and theo puolic, but the Master Grocers' Association stated today that it had been advised by the Minister oi Industries and Commerce that the system of butter registration would continue in the new rationing 'period as in the past.
