POLICE LOCATE SCHOOLBOY

PALMERSTON N., Oct. 11. A 15-year-old schoolboy was connecti-on with reports on Thursconenction with reports on Thursday night that a nocturnal prowler armed with an axe had on two separate occasions threatened persons in Palmerston North streets with assault. Inspector H. J. Joyce said the police were not yet certain whether any action would be taken against the boy. The reports of the elrcumstances of the two allegedly threatened assaults had eaused considerable anxiety and the news that the matter has been satisfactorily cleared up will be received with great relief. It is understood' that- the alleged escapades of the schooltioy had an unfortunate background. On Wednesday, it has been reported, he had a dispute with his scho'ol mascer regarding sporting activities and he was given an imposition in the form of remaining at school "after hours to assist the caretaker. The boy was seen to run across to College House' and emerge a> short while later with a tomahawk, He did not attend school on Thursday or Friday vand,.it is understood, he failed to make an appearance at his home. The boy is believed to have been suffering rather deely from nerves following a recent serious illness.
