DAMAGING EARTHQUAKE IN GREECE

Received. Wednesday, 10 a.m. ATHENS, Oct. 7. An earthquake in the Kalamata locality just before midnight last hfight is reported to have injured a number of people, collapsed ilouses and damaged other property. It also damaged the -power station, plunging the town into darkness. A cathedral, hotel and a bank were among the buildings damaged in Kalamata. Frightened residents slept in the squares. Seven villages in the same area were damaged. Telephone and telegraph lines were broken in some areas, but complete information is unavailable.
