V — ' ARRANGEMENTS FOR SHOW ^ UNDER WAY A meeting of the general committee of the' Horowhenua A. and P. Association was.held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Friday, Mr. J. A. Kil'sby presiding over a fair attendance of members. Various items of correspondence relating" to the annual show were d'ealt with. The president ihformed- the meeting that manure had 'been spread on the o-val some two weeks ago, and the grounds committee had recommended that from eight to' ten tons of lime should now be Used. Arrangements were made for this. It was decided to ask the judges to demonstrate the ,reasons for their pl'aci'ngs in one of. the strongest classes in each section. ;The.classes- suggested by the Horowhenua P'ony Cl'ub for inclusron in the schedul'e were left to the horse committee to accept. Mr. H. J. Lancaster asked that an imvitation be extended to the Governor- General to attend' the show, and to- open it on the second day. It was suggested that winners of trophies- should have them engraved and charge the cost to the assoeiation. The next meeting of the association will be held on Friday, October 31. ■
