JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE FINALS PLAYED

On Saturday the intermediate and junior finals of the club championships were played over 36 holes. In the junior championship T. Coutie led two up at the end of 18 holes, but in the afternoon J. Corry turned on some good golf to be two up and three to go at the end of 15 holes. However, Coutie fought back and took the next three to win the match one up. In the intermediate championship B. Eager struck a bad patch of form and was seven down to A. Hastedt after 18 holes. In the afternoon he was all square at«the 15th after some great golf. However, he found the strain too much and was dormy one at the 17th green. Hastedt won ,the hole and the match two up. In the finals of the D.C.L. Cup H. W. S. Walker beat DA.P. Todd six and five. Walker played excellent golf, sinking 15 footers on three holes for a birdie and two bogies. For tne players who did not jfollow the championships, a friendly medal round was arranged, the following cards being handed in: T. E. Douds 84—18-66, C. R. Hosie 80 — 11—69, R. A. Frederikson 81 — 12 — 69, S. C. Franklin 76 — 6—70, J. E. Fullarton 96—20—76, F. Langelan 95 — 18 — ' 77, W. Bull 99—22—77, W. Phillips 91-13—78, H. Murxay 100 —18—82. On Sunday a team of 24 players went to Buckley and were soundly beaten by 28 games to six, with two halved. Members are reminded of the Labour Day tourney. A full etftry of players is desired. Good trophies will be awarded and entrants ave assured of an excellent weekend's golf. Entries for the Atkinson Trophji are quite good, but more are want-

ed. This match will be played next Sunday and the entries are still open. A list is on view at the clubhouse and all members are invited to add their names to it if they have not already done so. Wet condi'tiops held up the working bee last weekend, and it ""is hoped that the weather will improve sufficiently for work to recommence next Saturday morning. Members will be advised by advertisement if the working bee is to be held.
