ON THE GOLF LINKS

LEVIN LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP/ On Wednesday next the monthly L.G.U. will be played by lady members- of the Levin Golf Club, the draw remaining the same as last week. The stableford bogey for the captain's trophy will be played in conjunction. The first round of the club championships was completed during the weekend. Individual results were as follows: Mrs. Porter beat Mrs. Ryder, Miss Herrick beat Mrs. McCiune, Mrs. Long beat Mrs. Frederikson by default, Mrs. Denton beat Mrs. Dickinson, Mrs. Cameron beat Mrs. H. Black by' default, Mrs. Richards beat Mrs. King. As the links may have to be closed sooner than was intended, members are advised to play their matches for the club championships as early as possible. Mrs. Frederikson defeated Mrs. McClune in the semi-finals of the Aratangata Cup. Mrs. Frederikson and Miss Franklin will play off in the final. The draw for intermediate and C grade mid-week players will take place at the clubhouse. For weekend players the draw will remain the same as for last Week. Games for -the Atkinson Trophy will take place at the weekend. As this is a mixed round, any member who wishes to play and who has not a* partner should advise the secretary. Should the weather be unsuitable tomorrow, the competition will be played on Thursday. Mesdames Long and Ryder are on tea duty at the weekend. •
