LITTLE DOUBT BODY IS THAT OF MARIE WEAT
WELLINGTON, Oct. 6. - There is little doubt that the body found on the slope of Mt. Victoria yesterday is that of Marie Emily West, the 17^-year-old typist. However, until positive evidence of identification is given when the inquest is opened this afternoon, identification rests on the wristlet watch known to be Marie West's and found on the ieft arm of the hody. , Her gold bangle was also found. i A post-mortem was conducted this morning by Dr. J. O. Mercer, but his report is not expected to be available to the police for a day or so. B'esideS the examination of the body to determine the cause of death, a chemical anal-ysis of parts of the body will also play an important part in identification as to whether she was the victim of murder. Police inquiries were continued this morning with a party of nolice clearing the actual area where the body was found and taking samples of the soil for subsequent analysis. When the' body was found yesterday it had decomposcd, but not to the extent where it would be impossible to deterihine if she died' from violence.
