"We take an interest in the annual reports and balance sheets- of all our affiliations, as' they indicate to us whether a body has been elnergetic. during the season or not, and exactly how much work has. been performed. We congratulate the president (Mr. R. Murray) and the seeretary (Mr. A. Dobson) , on their re-election to office for a further term, and wish them an even more suceessful year. "We look forward to Horowhenua being one of our foremost associations, as with the setting up of more factories ' and indhstries in its area it has the scope for great advancement, not only from the marching point of- view but the national viewpoint also," concluded Mr. Austad. "The only thing I am disappointed in," said Mr. Kilpatrick, who is 'also the national organiser for the Miss New Zealand quest, "i§ that Levin has not a eandidate in the field. I had high hopes that a eandidate could be found in the district, especially when they were able to put nine marching teams on the field in their first season."
