PREPARATIONS FOR CRICKET
HORO WHENUA ASSOCIATION . MEETSThe annual meeting of the Horowhenua Cricket Association was held in Levin on Wednesday night, • Mr. C. G. France presiding over a f-ftll attendance" of delegates. The various clubs represented were: Levin, College, College Old Boys, Weraroa, . Otaki, Paraparaumu, Shannon and Foxton. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Patrqn: Mr. H. B. Burdekin; president: Mr. G. C. France; vice-presidents : Messrs. R. Downes, H. S. Stevens, C. Reeves, A. G. Mitchell and! C. D. Atmore; secretary: Mr. C. E. Wiseley; management committee: Messrs. France, Wisfeley, K. Hudson, H. Rice and T: Roach. The association decided to fix the affiliation fees at £2 2s for senior and £1 ls .for junior members. . The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £24 14s 3d, there beng a profit of £1 13s ld on last season. All senior and as many junior competition games as possible will commence on October 18. The prospective junior teams are: Otaki-Paraparaumu, College (2), and Old Boys, with possible further entries from Foxton and Shannon. . It was decided that for - the purpose of classification of junior players, the management committee would constitute a classification ' committee to act whenever necessary. The association's rules have been amended to allow a travelling team 30 minutes' grace in its time of arrival instead of 20 minutes, and to give the annual meeting power to eleet a selector or selectors, this previously being in the hands of the management committee. The following selection committee was elected: Messrs. H. Rice, C. E. Wiseley and K. Rodgers.
