RECORD MONTH FOR CAR EXPORTS
LONDON, Sept. 12. Britain had a record month for car exports during July, states the Society of Motor Manufacturers and traders. With 13,854 cars heing shipped to Empire and foreign countries at a value of £3,600,000, exports reached a figure 60 per cent. higher than prewar. The main deliveries included 1379 vehicles to New Zealand. British India took 947 and South Africa 759. Belgium was the best foreign customer, huying 972. Sweden took 965.
